2019: A Year in Review and Looking Ahead to 2020
As the year draws to a close, it is common for institutions to reflect on the “year that was,” even as they look forward to the year to come. I believe this is a healthy practice, in that it reminds us of our successes, but also gives us the opportunity to think about the upcoming year.
To that end, I have asked Paul Knapstein (Assistant Principal and Athletic Director), Jenny Kopf (Director of Admissions and Advancement), John Scimeca (Dean of Students), and Kathy Barr (Director of Finances) to help us look both backward and forward in each of their respective areas.
Whereas our focus here is on the immediate—this year and next— the St. Michael Advisory Council is in the middle of a long-term planning process, which will culminate in a five year strategic plan to be published in the fall of 2020.
Our lives are busy. We solve problems and quickly move to the next problem. Every now and then, I believe it’s important to slow down, take a deep breath, and remember what we’ve accomplished together.
In that spirit, please take the time to read through these reports from the leadership team at St. Michael! As we approach this new year, may we be grateful for all the Lord has done, even as we embrace the challenges ahead with optimism and confidence!
