Congratulations to our choral and band programs which hosted a concert at St. Margaret-Scotland Church on Wednesday night.
All 140 of our beginning choral students led off the program, followed by performances from our chamber choir, our middle school band students, and our high school band. Julianna Lambeth, our baton twirler, also performed as a member of the band program. The evening concluded with our band and choir leading everyone in the school's alma mater, "Hail Thee, St. Michael."
The concert was also the debut of two new teachers at St. Michael. Ethan Bennett now conducts our choral program. Prior to St. Michael, Mr. Bennett led a highly-regarded choral program at Ravenwood High School in Nashville. Mrs. Gonzalez led a marching band, concert band, and orchestra program at Claremont High School in southern California
The October concert was a first for our school. Both teachers believed it was important to have a concert prior to the Christmas concert in December to jump start the year and give our students a chance to perform. Our thanks to Fr. Zoghby and the good people of St. Margaret parish for allowing us to perform in their new parish center! It was a wonderful setting!
Here's last night's recording of "Ave Verum Corpus" from our Chamber Choir.
Bravo, students and teachers in our music program!
