Choral Students Shine!

What if we announced that we had five “all-state” players on one of our athletic teams, as voted on by the coaches in the state of Alabama?  You’d be amazed, and you’d have every right to be!  It would be an extraordinary achievement!

No less extraordinary is the fact we do have five all-staters in our school, but not in sports!  My congratulations to the following who were named to Alabama's  All-State Choir based on competitions from last week: 

Julie-Ann Brazell 

Virginia Pryor

Mary Kate Anthony

Kannon Seal

James Marlowe

Even more impressive, our four seniors— Virginia, Mary Kate, James and Julie Ann—have been named  All State for Choir for three straight years! 

These students will now go on to participate in the annual All State Chorus in March 2020 where they will join with 200 students from around the state and work with a prominent choral conductor. 

Congratulations Virginia, Mary Kate, Julie-Ann, Kannon and James!

Congratulations to Mary Kate Anthony and Millie Ollinger for making All State Show Choir. Only 60 students were selected out of the 7 districts. Competition was fierce! They will participate in the All State Show Choir event in January 2020. Congratulations, Mary Kate and Millie, and to Mrs. Kilgore, their  teacher!
