NHS has selected St. Anthony Catholic Mission Church in New Mexico as their year long fundraising service endeavor.
“Education is the key to the world.”
Our 2023-24 National Honor Society service project will raise money throughout the year for St. Anthony Catholic Mission Church, located in the Zuni Indian Reservation of New Mexico. This historic church was founded by Catholic missionaries all the way back in 1629, and for over 100 years, St. Anthony’s Indian School has been serving the community of Zuni Pueblo, one of the poorest areas in the United States. This community is extremely impoverished, and many of the kids that go to school at St. Anthony’s go home to broken, struggling households. For many of these children, this church and school is the only place that truly feels like home. Through our donations, we want these kids, as well as their families and other parishioners, to know that they are always welcome in God’s house, and we want to help St. Anthony Catholic Mission to be that safe haven for them. The donations to St. Anthony’s will not only help parents pay for tuition, but will also provide funding for the countless repairs, renovations, and expenses across the parish. St. Anthony Church and School is completely dependent on outside donations, and needs as much help as possible to provide these students with a strong Catholic education, while preserving the rich culture and history of the Zuni tribe.

NHS will be fundraising throughout the year to send a donation directly from St. Michael Catholic High School in May. However, if you’re led to send a direct donation yourself, please click the donate link below.
