St. Michael hosted its fifth gala, Cardinals in the Courtyard on Saturday night, March 26, and the evening couldn't have gone better! The weather was perfect, our entertainment, magician Dewayne Hill was a lot of fun, the food and drink were excellent, and everyone had a good time!
Our thanks for the magnificent group of volunteers who worked so hard to plan the evening for us, led by Abbie McCullough and Jennifer Gorum, our co-chairs, and Jenny Kopf, our Director of Advancement and Admissions. Thanks also to the many businesses and individuals who sponsored the event--over 75 sponsors in all!--and those who donated items for the auction. Mr. Hill led us in auctioning off 6 "live " items, in conjunction with a silent auction that featured art, food, pottery, cruises, vacations and many more fun things.
We were also able to honor the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph McAleer, whose success as owners of Krispy Kreme and the generosity they bestowed on their children were pivotal in the success of the capital campaign to begin St. Michael. Members of the McAleer family were on hand, and asked to stand, and those present gave them a warm ovation of thanks.
St. Michael also wishes to thank all of our students who helped with the set up on Friday and Saturday, and the cleanup on Sunday morning. It was a team effort!
