Mr. Weber spent last Friday sharing in the school's winnings as a result of the annual pledge drive for Archangel Radio. St. Michael won the pledge drive with over $10,000 in pledges to the radio station, and received a winning check of $4800 as a result. The school then split the winnings four ways, resulting in $1200 checks for St. Benedict, St. Patrick and Christ the King.
"We're not in competition with each other--in fact, we're partners," Mr. Weber explains. " I'm excited about the future of K-12 Catholic education in Baldwin County. All for one and one for all! My thanks to Archangel Radio and to all of its donors on our behalf for making this possible."
In the presentation of the checks in the picture above, Mr. Weber "high-fives" Mrs. Leslie Mapp, principal of St. Benedict, gives a "fist bump" to Sister Margaret at St. Patrick, and does the "snail" handshake with Mr. Max Crain, principal of Christ the King--all suggestions from the schools' 8th graders, who deemed the traditional handshake as too "boring."
