Freshman Alexander Vick was awarded the first annual "Thomas L. Doyle" scholarship to St. Michael Catholic High School.
The partial tuition award scholarship is paid by the University of Notre Dame in honor of Dr. Doyle for his long-time service to the University. From 2001-2015, Doyle served as the Academic Director for the "Alliance for Catholic Education," a program that trains teachers who have recently graduated from college and places them in under-resourced schools around the country. Doyle currently teaches Honors Algebra II at St. Michael Catholic High.
Vick was chosen for the scholarship on the basis of his outstanding academic record, his friendly and kind disposition, and his willingness to serve the school in a variety of capacities.
Congratulations, Alexander!
