St. Michael is pleased to announce the hire of Coach Bryan Hunter for its Math department next year. Hunter replaces Ryan Bliss, who is completing his two year commitment for Notre Dame’s “Alliance for Catholic Education,” and will return to Notre Dame in the fall for a 2nd graduate degree.
Coach Hunter comes to St. Michael with 25 years experience as a Math teacher from Daphne High School, where he's also coached swim/dive, football, girls’ basketball, baseball, and girls’ and boys’ golf. From 2015-2018, his swim/dive team ranked as the top 6A team in the state. At St. Michael next year, he will assistant coach both in both girls’ basketball and baseball.
“We’re pleased to have such a versatile, well respected educator from Baldwin County join us,” indicates Faustin Weber, principal. “In addition to having taught every level of Math in the 9-12 curriculum, from Algebra through A.P. Calculus, his coaching experience gives us flexibility to meet our fledgling athletic program’s needs, both now and in the future. We’ve spoken to his former students and parents. He’s well liked and respected, and we think he’ll prove to be a great fit with us. “
Coach Hunter looks forward to joining St. Michael but is also grateful for his years at DHS: “ It has been one of the great joys and blessings of my life to serve the Daphne High School community over the last twenty-five years, and I am excited to now become part of the St. Michael’s High School faculty as an educator and coach! I look forward to being part of the future growth of the St. Michael’s community and helping the each student-athlete excel both in the classroom and on the field. Go Cardinals!”
Hunter and his wife, Hollie, have been married 23 years. They have two children, Emilie (17), who is graduating this year, and Carolyne (12), enrolled at Daphne Middle School. They worship together at City Hope Church in Daphne.
Welcome Hunters!
