About the Daniel Seiselmyer Scholarship
The Seiselmyer Scholarship has been created by a St. Michael family to honor St. Michael’s athletic team manager, Daniel Seiselmyer. Since the beginning of the school in 2016, Daniel has been a faithful volunteer and team manager, assisting in the smooth functioning of the Cardinal athletic program. He currently serves as the athletic department equipment manager.
Daniel is a brain cancer survivor, dating to 2013. Through his toughness, the grace of God, and the loving support of his wife, family and friends, he has overcome many of the physical and mental effects of that trauma and has become a well respected member of our staff by our coaches and student-athletes, who love him dearly.
Daniel is a strong advocate of the Cardinal program, encouraging students to "stay positive, remembering that what you put into something is what you get out," and to "always have faith in God, because his plans are best." Daniel sees the athletes as part of "his family" and looks forward to the future, watching his family and the athletic program "grow by leaps and bounds. "
The purpose of the Seiselmyer fund is both to honor Daniel for his optimism, faith and example, while also making St. Michael more affordable to families who otherwise could not enroll here.
Amount of Award
In its incipiency, the Seiselmyer Fund will provide a $3,000 scholarship to a new or returning St. Michael student for one year. As the fund grows, so too will the amount of the award and/or the number of recipients.
