St. Michael is happy to announce it has hired Mrs. Jessa Pippin to lead the Art program at St. Michael, beginning in January, replacing our founding Art teacher, Mrs. Scimeca, who has decided to stay home pending the birth of her second child in January.
“We were able to interview some very high quality candidates over the last month,” Weber continues, “and we are delighted that Mrs. Pippin has accepted our offer of employment. She’s a talented artist with an entrepreneurial flair, starting her own business locally called “Paint Art Live,” whereby she is hired for events such as weddings to paint the scene “live” and give people an incredible piece of art to commemorate the event. I was struck, too, with her faith, optimism and enthusiasm for life, which I think will be infectious with our students. They’ll like her very quickly.”
Mrs. Pippin is excited about the opportunity to work with young people: “I feel incredibly grateful to our Lord for giving me the opportunity to teach at St. Michael and become a part of this school community. I can not wait to serve Him and the students of St. Michaels with a joyful and creative heart! I am here to inspire happiness through creating! “
Mrs. Pippin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art from the University of West Florida. She is an active artist in the local community and her work can be viewed at the Coastal Art Center of Orange Beach. In addition to being the owner of Paint Art Live, she is a member of the Daphne Art Center, Eastern Shore Art Center, and Coastal Art Center. She sees art as a way to “connect deeper in her relationship with Christ and hopes to be a present example of this practice to all of her students.”
Mrs. Pippin has been married to her husband, Cory, for 4 years in March. They have a two year old son, Ryland, and 5 year old dog, Zoey, and a 10 year old cat, Emmy. They are parishioners of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope.
