St. Michael is happy to announce that Mrs. Rebecca Impastato will be joining its science faculty for the 2022-2023 school year. Mrs. Impastato will teach Freshman Physics, Chemistry and if approved, Marine Biology, as a senior year elective. She comes to St. Michael as a 20+ year veteran of Baldwin County public schools, both at the high school and middle school level.
“I’m pleased Mrs. Impastato is joining us,” reflects Faustin Weber, principal. “I met her several years ago and have kept her on the radar ever since. She is poised, calm and professional in demeanor. I believe the students will take an instant liking to her, even as she pushes them to reach beyond themselves in their studies. She’s quite versatile—I believe she’ll be able to teach some science electives that resonate well with our students and families.”
Mrs. Impastato is equally pleased: “I am thrilled to be joining the Cardinal family next year and grateful for the opportunity to continue my vocation as a teacher in a Catholic faith-based community. I look forward to working with the science department in continuing a tradition that challenges and excites students to learn about the world God has created.”
The Science position was made possible by the shift of Miss Lisa East to become the school’s first “Dean of Studies” or the 2022-23 school year. Miss East will teach two Chemistry classes while supervising the academic program, creating the need for a fourth science teacher. St. Michael is also seeking a full time Physics/Engineering faculty member to join Impastato, East and Mr. Walt Dupre to round out its science faculty.
