Saint Michael is happy to announce it has hired Mr. Griffin Shreves to be its next Facilities Director, replacing Mr. Jeff Reed, who retires at the end of April. Mr. Shreves brings a wide variety of experience to the Saint Michael Catholic High School family, including years working in a supervisory position with the Mobile Housing Authority.
“Mr. Shreves will be an excellent next director,” says Faustin Weber, principal. “He’s personable, professional and committed to the mission of Catholic education. At the same time, we are sorry Mr. Reed is leaving us and are grateful for his years of service here—though we’re now in our third year, in many ways the building and campus still look brand new—a credit to his pride and love for St. Michael. He and his wife have purchased some property in north Alabama and are eager to move there to be closer to the grandkids. We wish them God’s blessings.”
Shreves looks forward to taking on the important responsibilities related to the maintenance of the buildings and grounds: “We are meant to be good stewards of all things entrusted to us,” Shreves says, “and should approach all things with a servant mentality of integrity and dignity. I believe God has led me to this opportunity and I plan to make a great contribution to the success of Saint Michael Catholic High School.”
Shreves earned a BA from the University of Alabama where he majored in Economics and minored in English and German. He has been married to Brenda Burnett Shreves for 34 years and they have 3 sons, Griffin III, Wyley, and Eric. In addition to spending time with his family he enjoys playing soccer and is a proud, active member of the Knights of Columbus. He is a parishioner of Saint Pius X in Mobile, where he is also a Lector and Eucharistic Minister.
