St. Michael has hired Mr. David Wright as a full time Math teacher for the 2021-22 school year, replacing Mr. Huval, who has moved to Auburn. Mr. Wright is an experienced Catholic educator out of Dallas, TX, where he taught Mathematics at both Jesuit Preparatory School (13 years) and Bishop Lynch Catholic School (10 years). He will teach Algebra I and Honors Algebra II at St. Michael.
“I’m very pleased that Mr. Wright has accepted our offer,” says principal Faustin Weber. "Jesuit Prep and Bishop Lynch are highly regarded Catholic schools in Dallas. I believe he’ll bring that experience into our classrooms here, as well as a kind of affecting cheerfulness and concern for his students. His references praised him for his unfailing work ethic and his willingness to jump in wherever he’s needed. He’ll help assistant coach in track with us in the spring, but I’ll leave the details of that to Coach Knapstein, our A.D.”
Wright is eager to return to Catholic schools after a one year stint in the Baldwin County school system: “I am very thankful for the opportunity Mr. Weber has given me to be a part of St. Michael , and I’m excited to share my passion for mathematics with my students. Thank you for welcoming me into the Cardinal family.”
Mr. Wright is married to Susan, his wife of 26 years. Susan teaches Latin at St. Ignatius in Mobile, where they also attend church. They have three children: Daniel (25), Katie (24) and Rebecca (19).
