Pope Francis told a crowd of students and educators that “a school is not a parking lot. It is a place of encounter.” St. Michael Catholic High School is not merely a building where our students, faculty, staff and coaches show up to sit, it is a vibrant community that comes together to encounter each other and to encounter Christ. The mission statement of St. Michael Catholic High School states that we aspire for our students to be scholars, leaders and disciples of Jesus Christ. Our bold mission statement guides us in everything that we do and reminds us that we are not here to be merely a parking lot for students, faculty, staff and coaches but we are here to inspire and teach our students to become great scholars, global leaders and to become saints.
St. Michael Catholic High School is now entering its eighth year and it is an exciting time to be a Cardinal! This August we will be welcoming 14 new faculty members and 90 freshman onto our campus, we are watching with eager anticipation the building of our new football/soccer field and cannot wait for the time when we can all come together to enjoy a game under the lights! Transition can be sometimes be filled with trepidation and wariness for what may lie ahead, but in the words of St. John Paul, Nolite Timere, do not be afraid! For change can also be a time of anticipation and excitement for what is to come. I am looking forward to a wonderful year and getting to know our St. Michael community, including each of our students and their families. I am so excited to be here and proud to be a Cardinal!
